Is evolution still considered a theory?
Yes, it is still and always will be.

No it's not. The theoretical part is explaining how it works.

I imagine it would take numerous scientific volumes to fully explain in detail how it all works. It's that complex a process.

Evolution is one of the more ingenious parts of Gods creation. He gets to just sit back and watch it all unfold.

It's a scientific theory, yes. Be sure not to mix it up with what the word 'theory' is commonly referring to.

Unfunny joke isn't funny.

But yeah, agreed with Nagito. A "scientific theory" and the word "theory" have two distinct meanings.

Whether we evolved from apes or not, we came from something.

Neither Charles Darwin nor his theory of evolution have ever stated that we came from apes.
I Was saying that his theory explains that evolution has occurred in different species. Not that it says we came from apes.

I said whether we came from apes or not etc. as a seperate point.

The highest achievement scientist can achieve is having their life's work be regarded as theory. To be honest, the fact that we use still Newtons laws of motion when we escape the earth is testimony to fact that our descriptions of nature is still incomplete. Evolution is a super theory.

I know. Just promoting the same inaccurate information is all I really have an issue with.

evolution is beyond theory at this point. it's a fact; it's something we can observe and it's been tested for over a century. evolution by natural selection is the theoretical part since it tries to explain the mechanisms of evolution.

A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world.

I already mentioned this a long time ago, but there's lots of evidence outside of biology that natural selection as a theoretical principle actually works. Evolutionary algorithms have been massively successful at optimization problems. This, in my opinion, is also strong evidence that the principle of natural selection is sound.

This is why i labelled as super theory.
